LIVING ROOM
The goal
Design a furniture plan that makes the most of a long, rectangular room.
The space must embrace family life with young children and entertaining
equally.Use color that works with existing Oriental rugs used throughout
the house.
Some highlights
The room now has two seating groups. The choice of a daybed maximizes
the amount of seating in both, as well as keeping an open feeling when
large groups are invited. Vibrant red, raisin and persimmons build on
a color scheme started with the rugs and bring a freshness appropriate
for a young family.
Furnishings are sophisticated enough for adult guests, but covered in fabrics that stand up to an active family life. A custom designed cabinet houses both media and toys.
