The goal

Design a comfortable living room incorporating the client's existing sofa, bench and ottomans. Make the room support everyday living as well as entertaining. Restore the room to its original contemporary nature.

Some highlights

A previous homeowner had added colonial details to this 1950's split level. Pisa replaced the existing painted moldings with simple ranch moldings in maple and took out a traditionally styled built-in, returning the room to its original contemporary styling. A pair of lounge chairs, a cocktail table and end tables were added to the client's existing furniture to complete the room, giving ample seating for entertaining guests. The client's collection of tribal masks creates the perfect focal point for this room. A splash of color in the pillows and accessories adds interest to the restful, monochromatic palette.
